SDS: Introduce yourself to those who might not be familiar with you. Who are you and where are you from?

Emani Talitha: My name is Emani Talitha and I'm a singer songwriter from South London.

SDS: What got you into singing and how long have you been singing?

Emani Talitha: I was a quiet kid and my mum got me into a performing arts club at the age of 5, I've been singing and performing ever since

SDS: You dropped your debut EP in February “Loving my 20s”, talk to us about it. How long had you been working on it?

Emani Talitha: I was working on this project for 2 years, I took time out to write, find the right producers , get the right mix and write something most people can relate to. We all go through love, heartbreak and insecurity, and can resonate with prayers, manifestation and positive vibes. I wanted to articulate that through this project.

SDS: What is your favourite track from the EP and why?

Emani Talitha: ‘Manifestation Song’, because it's a song full of hope, faith, belief and soothing vocals that will inspire you and encourage you to fulfil your dreams.

SDS: Were there any tracks that didn't make it onto the EP, could we be hearing any of them soon maybe?

Emani Talitha: Yes, there were a few songs that didn't make it and could possibly be coming out in the future!

SDS: If you could only listen to one song on repeat for a whole day what would it be and why?

Emani Talitha: It would be a gospel song called "Encourage Yourself", because it's so easy to doubt yourself and fear but if you’re constantly encouraging yourself it will raise your vibrations .

SDS: What’s the most challenging thing about an artist?

Emani Talitha

Emani Talitha: Marketing & funding and over thinking every single thing!

SDS: What three words would you use to describe yourself?

Emani Talitha: Authentic, spiritual and fun.

SDS: What is a skill you've always wanted to learn?

Emani Talitha: Umm...rollerskating

SDS: Why rollerskating?

Emani Talitha: Because it's just fun, and it just gives freedom. I can skate a little bit but I want to do some moves, some tricks.

SDS: What would you like to see happen next for the UK R&B scene?

Emani Talitha: More collaborations with R&B artists. More singers singing on rappers' hooks, more support from platforms and a online R&B platform that supports artists like how other platforms like SBTV, LINKUP TV AND GRM DAILY do.

SDS: What’s your favourite thing about performing live?

Emani Talitha: My favourite thing would be connecting with the audience, hearing the audience sing my songs back to me, telling my story and knowing people are actually listening and relating to me.
